Textures from city drain covers recorded in clay and arranged according to the Cathedral Window quilt pattern

2024

Clay, acrylic, wood

I produced these textures by laying slabs of soft clay onto the rigid surface of city drain covers. With this work I am interested in a kind of jumping back and forth or convergence between more personal interior spaces, often associated with domesticity, and public architectural spaces.
