Like everything, it happens slowly and all at once.

My highly textured surfaces, though orderly in one sense, contain enough variability to implicate the slow work of hands as opposed to machines. These multi-layered, dimensional surfaces offer a space with physical depth for more complicated considerations. With each pleat that I sew into the giant blue tarp I create a new valley. Every time I puncture the woven plastic and thread the bailing twine through, I resist a flattening of my experiences. Like everything, it happens slowly and all at once.
